Today Marie had lunch at Judi's.  Janet and Bob picked her up.  We ate fried chicken, baked beans, and 'tater salad with lemon merangue pie for desert.  Then mom took her afternoon nap.  She really likes a day out even if she spends most of the that time sleeping.  She seems to be sleeping more these days.  She is anticipating a visit from her granddaughter, Kindall, who is expecting a baby in July.

Gramma Marie is recovering nicely from her "header".  When her face looks a little more normal, we will get another picture of her.  We went for a ride to check on the flowers in Sauguaro Park today.  She really likes to go for a ride.  She has 3 bouquets of flowers and a box of candy for Mother's Day.

Here is a picture of Mom that was taken when she moved into the Villa.  There were 2 men who write for the Village Voice, the monthly publication of the Village.  They came to take this picture because she is the first parent of a village to move into the Villa.  She was a big flirt with them.  I think she really likes the men.  She told storys about living in Arizona in the early 40's.  They loved talking to her.

Today Marie is visiting with her church circle group.  They came to pick her up and take her to a members house for lunch.  She loves to go and really wants to stay in touch with these friends that she has known for many years.

Welcome to Marie's new blog.

For all of you who don't know it, she is living at Academy Village Villas, an assisted living facility which is located in the desert south east of Tucson.  She moved to the Villas in January when she was ready for a change.  It is a longer drive for her daughter Ellen but she is closer to Judi and Janet.  In fact, she lives just a 5 minute walk from Judi's house.

She loves to see her friends who visit as often as they can.  She loves to go for a drive in the car and doesn't care where she goes.  Right now she is keeping track of the blooming Palo Verde trees.  "Look at the yellow!"

She is looking forward to the arrival of her first great grandchild which will be named after her.  The baby is due in July, fingers crossed.  She looks forward to getting mail so be sure to include her in your mailings.  Just a post card will due.
